Sometimes it takes a while for the guy to come over and work the KCM thing at SMF. Went outside for a smoke and when so I had no bags, and thought it would be easier to just go through the line and not wait for them. Nope, turns out that the TSA believed I needed a boarding pass to go through the regular line. Yeah, I'll just wait at KCM.

Sort of like the ATP rule for 121 pilots after Colgan? Renslow and Shaw exceeded 61.159 requirements (training records aside).

I definitely agree with that but it's been almost a decade now without a major accident (knock on wood) and IIRC at least three of the previous five accidents had a crew member who had short cutted their career by buying a job at Gulfstream in the past. The Pinnacle crash and the Comair one I know of as well as Renslow.

Coincidence? I really don't know. Just really coincidental for such a small operation. FWIW AWAC interviewed the Colgan FO and did not hire her due to lack of instrument flying skills (AWAC used a KingAir sim for their test, similar to a 1900), but somehow she was hired at Colgan operating a much more involved aircraft?

I'd like to think the increase in time requirements which has led to a much higher starting pay band has brought forward better candidates. Not everyone who went to Gulfstream is bad, I had two buddies go there one who is at Delta now.

It was like a like someone dropped a turkey into the middle of a China town. Lots of spring rolls, hot pot, papaya salad that burned you not once, not twice, but thrice, Vietnamese beef stew (apparently only Americans put potatoes in their stew, wth??), bun mi, bun bo, bun something or the other and other things my keyboard isn't capable of typing. Did I mention there was a turkey? Thanksgiving is fabulous with my Vietnamese family, never boring, albeit gastro-epic.
Speaking of meat in general, I've had a piece of filet that has changed the way I look at the world. I ate it with a spoon and merely allowed it to rest on my tongue for a few moments before consuming the melted bite of bovine flesh. Granted, I was at a country club that only let me in because they failed to do a background check on me, and this piece of meat probably cost more than my first car. Now wondering if I'll wander away from my usual aged rib eye or prime rib when frequenting my favorite meat eateries while on the expense account. There might be something to this fillat mig non stuff after all...

Now back to your reguliar thread, don't hate the drift!
 
Not sure who is stupid enough to try to sneak something through the KCM line I had those dudes go through my carry on twice last year.

Local law enforcement does this all over the country all the time. Had a very small local police department about 5 years ago that had a couple of officers that would deliberately target illegal aliens (Mexican workers that get paid in cash) and just flat out steal their money for personal gain. Eventually they got caught and prosecuted.

That's a bit of an exception, but it happens 'legally' all the time where the department keeps the money and after a certain amount of time it is their money. Doesn't even matter if charges are ever filed, much less prosecuted and convicted. If you're in a small town with little money and yet all the police are driving around brand new vehicles with over 100 shiny new LED fixtures that they think are so cool, most of it was probably paid for with stolen cash.

If you ever have legitimate reasons to be driving around with lots of cash then make sure it is well hidden, obey all traffic laws to the letter, and if you get pulled and they ask to search your vehicle tell them to politely • off. Just repeatedly repeat these words, "What was your probably cause for pulling me over? Am I under arrest or otherwise being illegally detained?" Oh, and don't be a minority. Apparently law enforcement tends to abuse those that aren't white.

This was all part of Reagan's War on Drugs, but of course dirty cops everywhere abuse the hell out of it.
 
Step one: dealing with Law enforcement, log on to Jetcareers.
Step two, do nothing about civil right violations, but complain on Internet forums.

All problems will be vindicated.

Hopefully they are prosecuted for it like it’s the real thing. Terrorists “test” security, this isn’t any different.
