KCM Violations

You guys think that's bad (and it is) you should Google "Kelo v. City of New London". If that doesn't make you want to take up arms against government overreach then nothing will.

Not only that but now they've seized your money, so how do you sue?

In the past they have seized homes and work vehicles too, so no way for the person to make a living.

The program had really good intentions but it's gotten out of control.

It's a civil matter, which is settled by a "preponderance of the evidence." (Which is a lessor degree of burden to 'beyond reasonable doubt') Also being a civil matter the burden lies with the defense to prove innocence, not the other way around...in criminal proceedings.
 
I guess they have to prove it’s a money transmitting business. It’s all on them to prove it. Technically there is no prohibition on cash you can carry domestic to domestic airport. Even internationally, you can bring more than 10k in cash - it just has to be declared.

That having been said, if I was traveling with large sums of cash I wouldn’t go through KCM. Go through a normal TSA checkpoint and know your rights.

Unfortunately, I'm afraid that monster has grown beyond control, thanks to our immediate post-9/11 need for anything security related whether it was window dressing or not. Sad thing is, it wasn't airport security that failed on 9/11, as the hijackers passed through security with items that were legitimate to possess onboard at the time.

Honestly? It’s just the attitudes of the non TSA screeners. They’re nicer. Yes, they still have to adhere to the buffoonery emanating from Homeland Security, but a good attitude goes a long way to cooperating with someone just trying to do their job. I’m less inclined to cooperate with an individual throwing off ‘tude.
 
Cool. I haven't had that much exposure since the days of KCM. The only problem I had was in CVG several years ago when the screener said "OMG, YOU HAVE SO MUCH WINE IN YOUR BAG, ARE YOU AN ALCOHOLIC?" in the middle of a six-day trip (JFK-CDG-CVG-CDG-JFK) and she, her supervisor and I had a nice little chat about the experience.

Oh, and Omaha because of their "hyper local" rules.

Funny... I had a similar experience in CVG that involved getting a conference call going in the station manager's office between the TSA supervisor, my CP, Airway's director of regional operations and at least one corporate counsel. Fun times. AND we only pushed 10 minutes late.

I had to get a supervisor when I got randomly selected in BOS once to confirm that no, crewmembers do not need a boarding pass to get through security.
 
Speaking of the TSA, a couple of the agent who worked the old JFK T3 were also pilots here on JC and one of the TSA agents in PHX is also my electrician.

Town I live in, one is a former ASA FA, whose dad was a Delta pilot for 40+ years. One was a fellow church member and Assistant Scout Master with me in our BSA troop. Another one had a son who was in our troop. I’ve run into several around town.
Just normal, everyday people.

There are good ones.
