I've heard this thing many times before, and there's something I've been unable to figure out...the controller clears them FL260. Then, somehow, they're at 11,000. Was there a clearance I missed, or did the pilots regain enough consciousness to realize what was going on and execute an emergency descent?

note, the smoker (captain) was still able to keep his wits (a-ok!) and the pink-lung was out light a light!
