Just submitted the application

i think the developmental apps require some sort of experience
(You are only a developmental after the Academy, to my knowledge. Off-the-street you are only a trainee.)

Make sure you meet ALL the requirements. Most general apps for the public are listed PUBNAT1... PUBNAT2, etc

You will then see postings for PUBNAT__ so just search under the one that matches your application

So should I go back and look for Trainee? The PUBNAT section isn't too helpful. It just has testimonies of folks who already have a PUBNAT.

[pm makes loud growl *RAWR* and steps outside the cave] :bandit:

What's up Boomer? Not much here, just been busy railroading and stuff. I guess we're all still waiting!?

Where'd you get rerouted to?

I am slated for OKC in August along with that hawaiian pineapple chick. :p

Whoa, Honupineapple got a run-around both of us!? :banghead:

They are changing me to Norcal Tracon (lol, a lvl 12 tracon :buck:). I'm expecting a class date of around 3-4 mos. from now.

You going en-route?

OK thanks, that where I applied to. But I still don't know where and how to access this PUBNAT stuff.
http://jobsearch.usajobs.gov/jobsea...IT1.x=85&SUBMIT1.y=17&SUBMIT1=Search+for+Jobs

hopefully that works

Notice "Vacancy Ann.#: AAC-AMH-09-CTI-12655"
"Air Traffic Control Specialist Trainee"
That's the correct title, but its for CTI.

a Pubnat will say something like
"Vacancy Ann.#: AAC-AMH-09-PUBNAT9...." with the trainee title.
None are listed right now, so be patient :banghead:

Gotcha, I will be hanging around in the holding pattern. I read an article that they have received over 100K applicants and there not accepting new ones. Does anyone know how accurate this is?

100k applications?

I think that number might be a bit high, however you never know.

No idea, but I think there was a thread here saying something about "no more PUBNATs"

I didn't read it though, but I wouldn't be surprised
A lot of us have been waiting for over 1 year, so I don't know why they would still be having announcements before they process current applicants.

Because it's a lonnnng process and they don't finish each step before moving to the next.

There'll be more PUBNATs. Staffing is still critical. Maybe not as frequently as before, but they're coming.

LoNNNNNG maybe an understatement. But I'll hold off as long as I can. How will I know when and If I get to continue with the application process and take the test?

there were 20k applications for pubnat1 alone. i heard this directly from a training manager at a busy center (just before pubnat2 came out)

wow, that's crazy
I wonder how many they hired from that 20k? Just a few hundred?

It seems like the FAA has enough applicants to fill classes for another year or more...

You'll know when you see the next PUBNAT thread here.

Then you'll apply, then wait, then select a geographical preference, then wait, then be selected for a test...etc
Once the PUBNAT is posted, just follow the thread at JC and you'll keep up with everyone else. Most of the steps happen at the same time for everyone in the same applicant pool.

If that's the case, I seriously feel honored to have my TOL.

I'll quit my b*tching now...

Alright, by that time though I may not have the motivation. Well thank you all for the info.
