Just kind of a FYI

Some at least of the ATC-CTI schools got to have a teleconference with people from the FAA ATC HR department today. An interesting comment was made during the talk.

The HR people made the comment that there were a number of people who were not selected to take the AT-SAT test, but who got the contact information for Robinson Aviation from other people, much like srm1734's posting of (her I'm assuming) email from Robinson Aviation in the PUBNAT 8 thread. The HR people said that people would use this information to call and arrange for tests that the people were not scheduled for.

I forget their exact words, but the HR people then went on to say that this was basically lying to/on a federal institute/form and that an investigation was going on, that could very well lead to everyone who got into the ATC program this way getting canned.

I mention this because I know some people at school who did this, and I seem to recall some people on these boards doing this. While it's too late for anyone who has done this, for you other future ATCers take this as a heads up and a warning. If you were not selected for AT-SAT testing, it was probably not by oversight. So using the contact info and calling up to say that you were selected and requesting a test date when you really were not is not a good idea.

Well for those who get caught and canned it will just leave a few more spots for those of us who were auth. to take it.

Hope they catch them all!

That does seem pretty ballsy!

"Hi, I am supposed to be in this hiring wave, I need to set up my test."

I wonder if these people thought the FAA would never find out, or just didn't care. Hmm....

One step better, just show up at a tower & tell them you're their new guy fresh from okc, that way you get to skip all that book stuff. Just watch pushing tin & airplane a few times and you have your basics.

I agree, that's serious balls!
