Just in case..

Did anyone serve on the "Indy" CV-62 during the first Gulf War. I had the honor of working on the worlds finest navel fighter, the F-14 Tomcat.

I had the honor of "lighting up" the world's finest naval fighter a couple times on their way to NAS Oceana when I was in FC "C" school at Dam Neck, VA.

I'd love to have a day or two just to explore those things!

We should take a day and fly up to Mobile, AL. The USS Alabama is anchored across the bay from the Mobile Downtown Airport. At least, it looks that way on the map. There's also a ton of planes in a building out front of the ship, and a submarine is right next door.

Oh man I just love this !!

Especially the end, 'Cake' ROFL

Just one question. How up is up with the nose? Just enough?

Not only that, what is the 27-Charlie class (smaller) aircraft carrier in the top of the pic?

Here is a better picture of some of the fleet sitting at the pier in Bremerton. You can view some of the other pics at the site to get a better view. The smaller carrier is Hull Number 41 and if my memory serves me that is the USS Midway which is now tied up to a pier at the Embarcadero (sp?) in San Diego. I believe she is the largest carrier museum in the country.

I'm not sure which Battleship that is due to the angle of the bow number.

It may have been the Missouri. The pictures were taken in May of 1997 and the Missouri didn't get moored at Pearl Harbor until June of 1998. Not sure, but that was with only a little research. Will do more.
