Hey man, lavs is tough work! All kidding aside, it actually IS a high seniority position at SWA. Surpised me. I thought I'd get stuck with it when I first started there, but I haven't had to dump lavs in two years. I've seen some interesting accidents happen to other people, though.
That would be me. I'm number 93 out of 116. Growth has been non-existent since I got in. The guy who is #116 has been there for almost two years as well. I work 1400-2230, Thur-Mon which is not that bad. Lavs is a high seniority line b/c you work on your own and set your own pace. I'd rather run bags to baggage claim or transfer bags between flights than lavs. My currently line keeps me on a gate with the planes, so I'm fine with that. Downside is that I normally wind up in the bin, stacking bag on bag on bag in the Florida heat. I actually crammed over 200 bags in the rear of a 737-300 last week. New personal best.
Lloyd, you too?! US Air just hired my with my newly minted 1 hr TT!!!!! I'm going straight to the left seat of the A330, making well over $500,000! What a coincidence!
OMG! Bill just talked to the director of training at Delta, and they said that since I'm the wife of a Delta pilot, that they're going to give me a special new-hire slot! I'm so stoked! I start class tomorrow...........
