CommutAir is opening a SYR base on August 1 and that is/will be the most junior base.

This post brought to you by beta from my iPhone.

As a Southernjets pilot, you largely get what you get. It's a career carrier anyway so what's "junior" shouldn't matter in the macro sense. If it does, one shouldn't apply.

AWACs is ORF...always and forever. Then PHL, DCA, LGA. We closed RDU as of July 1st. But with us, what is the most junior base may not be the least senior. For example, you can make it into DCA as a reserve or low line holder fairly easy, but it is really senior. I'm bidding about 23/60 and have very little movement upward because all the super senior FOs are there, so we see the least movement.

If you're looking to apply to an airline based on where you'll be based as a NH, you're doing it wrong. The name of the game is numbers. Get a number, build your numbers, move on.

The worst everything is in Fresno.

Oh please. You sound like our whiney SLC lifers that have never been north of the airport, yet complain incessantly how terrible FAT is. I lived on the North side of town for a year, and it was just fine. I got to do some amazing hikes in Sequoa and Yosemite (it's called the Fresno Yosemite Airport after all), and made some good friends while there too.

Some of you that think Fresno is the worst place ever need to get out more...

for Shuttle America:
Junior: IND and CMH (both are pretty equal on how junior...although IND is way more top heavy due to the mothership being there)
Senior: ATL (5+ years to hold a line...its a very small base anyway)

in order (for new FO's):
IND/CMH
LGA
ORD
ATL
