Jumpseating on other airlines

I was talking to one of my friends that is a FA for Delta. She says that Delta has a policy that pilots jumpseating form other airlines cannot have the seat in the flight deck, even if they aren't any available seats in the cabin.

Is this a new rule that most airlines have?

You're FA friend is wrong. I sat up front on Delta last week.

Delta USED to have a policy that didn't even allow their own pilots to ride up front but that was years ago.

She is wrong. I sit in the flight deck jumpseat all the time and I don't work for Delta yet. :D

Unless that FA has been only doing international flights, where that is true, you may jumpseat internationally, but not physically occupy the jumpseat.

I jumpseated on DL to Manchester England last month. An amazing cabin crew going, not so much coming back.

Domestically though, she is wrong.

She's not correct.

Delta finally negotiated the jumpseat privilege in 1996, I believe.
