JOB POSTINGS

I don't but it takes away from the threads that people do enjoy reading. People are less inclined to post some real insight when they are not able to access their favorite threads easily. Its visually distracting and as you can see no one replies to all that junk. There are many other sites that we all know of where we can access those overseas, contract postings. Fortunately this site gives a different perspective in aviation and SPAM posting takes away all the great content on this site. But if the moderator wants to allow it he should create a new thread for these type of postings.

I understand your viewpoint; however, the purpose of posting vacancy announcements on the jobs board is to provide others with a lead to prospective employment. Having worked offshore for a number of years, I can say the offshore market may be very lucrative provided one is willing to "cut the umbilical cord" to the United States for a few years. This type of work isn't for everyone and I certainly understand if an individual doesn't wish to undertake the challenge and associated changes.

The vacancy announcements I've placed thus far have been for pilot-specific jobs with hyperlinks to a company rather than a recruiting agency. Being new to this site, I've not had ample opportunity to assess the "different perspective" to which you refer and, in fact, see no difference between unemployed/under-employed pilots on this site from those on other sites. The end result is the same: "I need a job!"

The intent is not to "SPAM" the forum, but rather to highlight opportunities to the members of the forum for them to exploit to their benefit. Certainly, not all of the listings on this forum are "exclusive"; therefore, it doesn't make sense for an individual not to share an opportunity with their peers and colleagues in the community. It's about helping each other out, a trait which seems to have fallen by the wayside over the years.

Looks like its one against everybody else here, I'd say the majority wins. Thanks for all the posts and frankly I'm impressed, looks like a lot of work went into finding these and sharing them with everyone here.

Seems fine to me.

I say keep on posting them...one never knows when they might come across thier dream job. For those of us with good jobs it is nice to keep a pulse on the market to see how the industry is trending.

I think the Ghost job postings are the most useful thing at this site. The site was designed for pilots to interact on a social level and all but what's really important in this biz is networking and finding a damn job. Or finding a better damn job than the one you have now. The Ghost facilitates that and I think he's become the most important user at Jetcareers....besides Doug....

yea def keep on posting them... Not everyone has the time to search like you do, and im sure most people appreciate you sharing what you have found!!

The masses have spoken.

A few went up this morning (00:00-01:00 my time).

With respect to the members concerned with SPAM, I shall endeavour to not saturate the board.

I must say I was annoyed by all those postings yesterday. If your going to do that, try grouping them into to 1 thread with links. If I wanted to see a bunch of junk job postings I would log into climbto350.com.

How are these "junk posts" if they are posted in the jobs section? I for one appreciate the help and volume of posts, as I'm not a current member of any "aviation jobs" website. If anything, I feel good that there are jobs out there for people, even if I'm vastly underqualified for most, lol.

Keep it up, Ghost!

Ghost, you da man!! Its funny, but you look at the forum home page and see how many people are viewing certain sections of the forum... jobs available is always one of the most popular sections.

Why in the world would anyone be complaining about job postings!?

It's a tough road for a lot of our peers at the moment, just hope someone will be able to take advantage of some of the opportunities. They may not all be at home, but with the way things are going some will have to go where the money is.

Regarding the comments of concern with respect to my posts, I can understand their viewpoint and appreciate it. I wouldn't be too hard on them as they're only looking out for the other members of the forum in trying to ensure it doesn't become like some of the other sites which post everything from Sandwich Mechanics to Scarecrow Repairmen.

I "came out of left field" and threw up quite a few posts my first couple of days, which would concern me if I'd been a member of a forum for a lengthy period of time only to have a newbie arrive and start saturating the job board.

I'm sure it would concern most people, so I hope the forum will try to take this into consideration, view the situation from their perspective and appreciate their motivation.

I think the spirit of the "members only" job forum is to give people with an "in" the opportunity to offer a job to the JC community before it becomes available to the general public. Since you're propagating job postings from other sites, perhaps they might be better suited to the general Jobs Available forum.

Thanks for what you're doing, it beats the hell out of paying for a climbto or other site memberships.

+1 for "Why in the world would we want you to stop?" I was out of work for 10 months and it's awesome to see someone taking the time to try and help people out. Thanks!

It's great to see so many opportunities are out there.

Keep the job posts coming. Hell, I never know when I might want to bug out and take another opportunity so if it's just a bunch of CFI jobs an entry-level positions, it would serve as no value to me. A good mix is, GOOD! :)

The goal of this site is to help people who are looking for help and you're doing it very well!

Everything helps.

Ghost is the man (a bit odd if you think about the mechanics of all that!) May as well keep options open and as long as they are legit, keep throwing them up. If somebody has the luxury of not wanting to move ahead in their career, they can navigate away from the jobs page and avoid the mean man with the threats of employment.
