I've received a complaint from a member stating I'm attempting to saturate this forum with SPAM job postings.

I'd like a consensus from the forum as to whether I should refrain from future postings or continue to place job vacancies on the jobs board.

Your thoughts are greatly appreciated.

So lo as they are not duplicates and they are actual job postings I like them. I think they are a little above the pay grade, on average, than the median JC member, though. But it gives one hope in these desolate times. Now where can I get myself a G550 type rating for under $50.

I have a number of websites (100+) bookmarked consisting of corporate / airline / government career pages which are browsed daily. This is something anyone with time and motivation may accomplish.

My flight department mission collapsed, with only one aircraft remaining in heavy MX at the moment, so I'm utilising the time to conduct job searches for myself which I'm happy to share.

Being new to JC, I'm unfamiliar with the demographics of the forum, so I've posted vacancy announcements across a broad spectrum of the industry.

It really makes no difference to me whether I post vacancy announcements on JC or not. It's entirely up to the membership of the forum, which was the intent of this post.

If the consensus is to refrain from future postings (specifically, vacancy announcements), I'll have no problem at all in honouring the wishes of the masses.

In the interim, I've suspended posting (jobs) on this forum for a period of 48 hours. This should be an adequate period of time to allow feedback.
 
I know I'm just a low timer around here but if they are legit jobs I think you should keep posting them. I find them useful and this is the jobs board.
 
Although there might be an issue with "spamming" with my idea, but maybe it would be better to just post the links to the bookmarked sites you have in one topic instead of individual job postings? Might want to look into seeing if that would be okay too. I'm sure a lot of people would love to have the info on places to go for even more job listings.
 
Lots of whiners on here, they're never happy..... too many job postings.....why aren't there any jobs..... whhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

I for one like seeing what going on as far as jobs are concerned. If its not a hassle for you, you might split overseas and domestic and as stated above put them into single posting postings

I'd say keep it up. I've been following your post and man, I got to tell you, I really appreciate the time and effort you're putting in.
 
I would say continue to post them, but I don't know where this other guy is coming from. Anyhow, I'd vote carry on.
 
bring it. (nice to know they are out there) It almost makes it look like there is pilot shortage or something.....

Depending on your location, look for a gallon bucket of Vaseline or Baby Oil. This way the complainer can slide down your back faster!

IIRC the SPAM policy's on this forum are subject to definition by it's moderators and administrators. Unless one of them contacts you - PFFFT!

If anything, the job postings should be initial post only with no opportunity for reply, which may help in avoiding the utterly dumb and lazy standard questions such as:

"Pay?"
"QOL"
"Anybody know anything about this outfit?"

...or the obligatory slamming and libel that sometimes ensues from posting a company name.

Post just enough information so that a motivated individual can initiate contact and find out for themselves. It serves little to no purpose to discuss a job opening, because:

1. Some ding dong will eagerly offer to do the job for free, anyways.
2. The second it is posted here, the place is flooded with resume's.
3. Someone badmouthing the company may just do so in hopes to have a better chance to get the peanuts themselves.

Your original thread in the Jobs section was fine. The policy is simply to try and avoid posting the same thread in multiple places. Where you posted the one you did, works fine. I just combined the two same-threads into the one here.

Right. Sorry, I was under the impression there were two separate and distinct job boards...one for members, the other for guests. My bad...thanks for the heads up!
