Aviators Continuing to Elevate

Anyone heard of this? Looks like it's not on the west coast yet.

I have not heard of it, but I'm seeing a lot of these 135 charter companies trying to attract retired 121 guys.

*Be warned! The flying isn't for the faint of heart. Those guys are doing a lot of flying in the 135 world these days. It's extremely rough over there right now and for the foreseeable future.

I’ve seen a couple retired 121 types doing medevac. I literally can’t comprehend being 65 plus and wanting to get woken up at 2 AM to fly all night, doing your own fueling and deicing in the middle of nowhere in wind, rain, and snow.

Hyooogely depends on the base. The flying at the Children's Hospital in St. Louie was pretty gentlemanly. I would do that again as a beer-money gig with my walker and a couple of strapping medicos to lever me and the patient in to our respective seats. The Rez? Uhm, no.

My experience is now dated as I left Jet Linx May 2021, but not a chance I would ever go back. Schedule was awful, and the operation was that of a small charter company trying to be a big charter company.

Medevac was hands down the easiest job I’ve ever had. I still question my sanity leaving it, 3% 401k match was a bummer though.

Well when you have a boat and 3 ex wives, or is it 3 boats and an ex wife…?
It's 3 of both. Three is a magic number. :)

(btw, I got the sarcasm. Never forget, there is no humor without a kernel of truth. The kernel betrays the absurd. Why do you think all the comedians are out of work these days? Absurd is the new black. The difference between horror and comedy is bifurcated by a thin veil. It depends entirely upon the ground on which you stand.)

That’s true. Pilatus flying here was fairly civilized much of the time, you’d hardly fly on night shift. The jeeeeeettttt is a different story, I guess that’s the penalty ya pay for having an APU, hot wings and tail, and a copilot to do all the dirty work.

In the words immemorial of Nancy Reagan... When it comes to JL, "Just say NO."
DITTO!!
Dealing with them was the worst of my entire flying career! Dodge a bullet!!
IMHO, you should go fly for JL only if all of the trucking opportunities are gone!
