Jeppesen Charts

Hey guys,

Thought I'd run this by you guys, see if you guys knew anything.

So I'm updating all of our Jeppesen charts that we have here in our ops office, and while the cheat sheet that comes with the revisions tells you what you're replacing, adding, or throwing out, I've been going through and noticing some stuff seems like it's missing, or possibly fairly old.

I'm basically wondering if anyone knows of a way to run some kind of audit on Jeppesen charts? We've got the entire US volume, plus a Canada/Alaska volume here (two sets, actually). I'm kind of taking it upon myself to see if there's a way to do that, that way when I go to the manager and say, "Hey, these are funky" I can have an answer to how to solve the problem.

You can contact Jeppesen who can provide you with a list of what you should have and audit your Jepp's from that.

There should be a master list at the front of your first Jeppesen binder. It will show every chart that needs to be in there.

As i recall, every so often Jepp used to include an audit type sheet with a revision. Also, as mentioned above, there should be LEP (List of effective pages) in your revision.

Your best bet though, is to go electronic. One click and revision done!

Jepp issues a yearly checklist for all charts that need to be in the book and will replace up to 40 charts at not charge. If more than 40 plates are missing then Jepp requires the operator to purchase a new book I believe.

You may be able to contact them about the yearly jepp checklist and see if they will send you one

Thanks guys! I'll take a look into the Jepp books and see if there's a master list. I know they send the revision list with the revision packets.

I've just been working at catching up on the revisions, the last person who was here was behind, so I'm playing catch up. But I was noticing they had charts out of order, charts that were doubled or seemed missing as well. Though I also noticed Jepp has done that too...I revision I was working on tonight had 4 total copies of one chart in the packet.

Also, myself and all the dispatchers here would love for the company to go digital. I think it's happening someday...couldn't tell you when though.

All Jepp revisions come with a new LEP. Use that and if it's not on the list, it's not supposed to be in the manual.

I know we were getting some duplicate stuff there for a bit as well as a few that were missing stuff, so we ended up calling Jepp for an up to date list of what we should have.

Took a look in the first binder like one here recommended, it sort of does have a master list...but it's just a list of effective changes, basically. It doesn't tell me what all is actually supposed to be in there.

Also, the audit sheet that comes with each revision doesn't tell you everything that's supposed to be in there, either. It only tells you which charts you are changing out, deleting or adding to the bunch.

Appreciate all the help though, guys! It's kind of a project I'm having to throw on the back burner at the moment, but when myself or someone else can get to it, I'll do some more looking into options.

It's called the List of Effective Pages. That is the list of what is current. If you go to a certain page, and the chart number is not listed on the LEP, then throw it away. Just be careful putting it on the back burner----if your shop uses those charts and they are not current (pages that are not supposed to be in there are in fact in there), it can get you in trouble with your PDI should they audit that.
