Individual will be the subject matter expert for the department in regard to all content developed and sold to aviation schools for maintenance training or pilot training purposes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Provides aviation subject matter expertise as technical writers.
  • Provides aviation subject matter expertise to non-aviation technical writers.
  • Verifies the technical accuracy of written material developed by non-aviation technical writers.
  • Works with instructional designers in developing material per the project plan.
  • Stays current on developments in the aviation industry.
  • Remains active in the aviation industry.
  • Serves on committees (flight instructing, maintenance instruction), and presents at conferences.
  • Analyzes government and industry resources for changes affecting BA/GA existing and future products and services.
  • Regularly reports the status of industry changes and trends to development staff.
  • Proactively makes recommendations to business leader coordinator for new or updated projects based on industry developments and trends.
  • Provides risk assessments for incorporating or not incorporating changes and trends.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Education/Experience:
Applicable degree and typically 6 or more years' related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess Mechanics Certificate with Airframe & Powerplant rating. Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) Certificate highly desired.
