JB TV's saves friends life

man, found out a buddy was supposed to be on 3407 but switched to JB because he wanted to watch TV. guess the JB flight got delayed and he almost switched back to 3407. crazy stuff. Up here in Buffalo everyone knows everyone in some weird way. crazy.
 
Wow....the minor things that end up determining our fate never cease to amaze and baffle me. I guess you just never know and everyone's life is full of "what ifs." :(
 
I have a buddy, a Continerntal FO, who, along with his wife and three kids were supposed to be on that flight, but decided to drive instead when it was delayed.
 
Imagine where life can take you depending on if you go to the left or go to the right.

It's like they say, things happen for a reason. I'll bet there were numerous pax and some Colgan crew members who made last minute decisions that prevented them from being on that flight.
 
I dare say that there were probably a fair number of people that made last minute decisions or had unforeseen circumstances that cost them their lives as well. Shall we bring God into that thought as well?

ehh, somebody had to be on those flights. It was random chance that appears selective when you or a loved one is the victim, but really that's just anthropomorphizing chance. I tend to think more in terms of "lucky break," for those who missed the flight, and "#### out of luck" for those who were on it. Not to be callous, but sometimes in this world life is nastier, brutish-er and shorter than it should be, and worse, sometimes those who end up with life on the shorter side were friends or loved ones. In this case, all I can say is at least it was quick.
 
To those whom lady luck dealt a winning hand, recognize your chance now to do those things you always said you would and haven't.

And to those souls whom fate was less so fortunate, Godspeed and let us celebrate their lives.

Aviation has claimed and will continue to claim our comrades; pay the respect deserved, learn from others' experiences, be honest and humble with your abilities, and may we all enjoy the time we have.
