after 53 people voted in for january's theme, "current a/c you fly or last a/c you flew" was january's theme. voting is open until jan 30th, the winner will be announced jan 31.

I got screwed up with travel and starting a new job - I feel ashamed I didn't get around to entering one since I suggested it. If it gets pushed back I'll go to the airport this week for sure - if not, I'll take shots for February.
 
I don't think it's right to open up the contest again. We all fffff'ed up. Time to declare #1 as the winner, and have him choose Feb's theme.

You're right - we just need to kick each other in the ass next month and make sure we get our submissions in.
 
we can't declare a winner until the voting is finished.

i had a shot i was going to enter, but then a contest of two shots felt more pathetic than a contest of one shot.

we'll try again in feb, if it doesn't go any better, maybe a monthly contest isn't a such a good idea.
 
Well I was going to wait closer to the end of the month to pick a photo that I took in January. I hadn't flown at all in the first week. Maybe others were waiting for similar reasons.
 
I'm guilty as well. I only flew 2 legs during the contest window... one it was a crappy day out and the second was a redeye so never got a chance to take any airplane pictures. Actually, I still haven't flown since that trip....

Hmmm...I think Feb's theme should be "kicking someone's ass"...photo's pilots kicking, or acting like their kicking someone's ass (not fighting, but as in 'kick me sign' terms).

In all seriousness though, since we're in the winter months, I think Feb's theme should be "Winter Aircraft Shots". Shots from around the airport and/or airplanes in a snowy environment.

We don't exactly have snow here in Alabama... or well... the other southern states! :D

I know for a fact that you got snow back in December...I flew into Madison Executive and I saw snow on the ground! hahaha...

However, if someone does submit a picture of themselves acting like they're kicking a student/passenger/TSA Agent/FO or Captain or FA...that would take it.

Sounds good! Those who aren't in snowy environments could get frost, OAT guages on the ground, etc.
