Glide slope?

No if your landing south there is a downhill slope to the runway. This makes it hard to run 135 numbers when your heavy and or the runway is contaminated. Also there is a steep missed approach climb gradient.

In fact the JAC approach plates are often used for line checks because they are tricky and everyone has poured over the ASE charts.

I don't think it's that hard of approach or steep of gradient

Its not a hard approach. I agree. However it can be hard to make the numbers work. The max landing weight of the aircraft I fly is 31,800 # last time I flew into JAC I was restricted to 26,000#(ish). That was during the spring after the worst of the weather and not too hot. Density altitude and rwy contamination combined with the runway slope caught a 121 operator off guard. Not a hard approach but a couple of dudes were likely doing the extended carpet dance after a 757 went off the end of the runway at JAC. Oh, and I'm not as good as those guys either.

Also I didn't mention but the visual approach can be tricky in terms of planning a descent. Not too big of a deal in the KA but you don't want to scare the PAX.

And BTW, you all were right, easy approach in, besides the little Cessna that decided to cut in front of me when I was on base.

Flying a 182 into JAC would be more difficult than a king air.

OP, when are you in town?

Flown 172's, 182's, 206, King Air's and even a 152 and tomahawk in there. I never noticed anything so difficult. Seems to be an easy airport to go to. I even endorse 20 hour student pilots to go solo there crossing the mountain range.

Don't be that guy. Just because you are flying something a little bigger doesn't mean you have to say "that little cessna". Looking at your profile, I doubt that cessna was all that little a couple hundred hours ago?

I did not mean for that to sound offensive to anyone. It was just kind of strange because I was cleared for the visual approach and the tower didn't alert me to any traffic, and then there he was coming in on long final as I was on base. If you knew me, you would not have taken this as a presumptuous statement. His approach speed is 80 knots, mine is 120 which caused me some issues. But it all worked out by keeping that watchful eye for other traffic.
