Items From Steve Fossett Found

Very interesting find...I will say that having participated in that search last fall, and having flown very near where the items were found, the turbulence near Mammoth Lakes is always pretty hellacious and it would not surprise me in the least for this to turn out to be a case of a simple mountain flying error, with him getting caught in a downdraft he couldn't outrun.

I believe your right Aloft and any other amf'er that has done that route on the bank run or ups run will probably agree with you. The worst turbulence either rotor or mtn waves I have ever experienced was up there. Yet some of the most beautiful flying also up there

The remains were found among a field of debris that stretched 400 feet long and 150 feet wide in a steep section of the Sierra Nevada
