It has begun...

It wasn't that long ago that staying away was sound advice concerning 9E. What a difference a few years make...

Two years is a long time in this industry. They're the hot new growing regional right now, no guarantee who will be on top of the heap in two years time. My post was mostly sarcastic.

Still a valid point. Helluva carrot to dangle for a few years, no guarantee it won't be there before or after '18 (ain't in the contract, right?)

Yeah I kept assuming they were that same regional also. I almost always have to keep tabs on who's hot and who's not so I don't make a ticking time bomb decision...

Like a Seaport.

Congrats! That was fast, who won the bet? Let us know how that interview goes. Good luck!

Thanks. I'm not too worried about the technical questions. I'm more concerned with the TMAAT questions and recalling experiences.

Best advice I've gotten was to write down your answers and study them. I know it sounds stupid to study questions like what are your strengths and weaknesses and why you would be good for the company but it's better than saying the wrong thing or spending 2 minutes to find a weakness you have. Also, I've heard on the when you've broken a FAR question, think of your answer and then choose the 2nd one...not the first.

Not sure if that helps. Also heard don't answer I've been close to a cloud once.

Yea I'm writing down my answers. For the breaking a FAR question a lot of people have used breaking the sterile cockpit which is a pretty benign one. But blatant stuff like busting through a cloud while VFR probably isn't the best answer. I've been going over some stuff with my dad who is a captain at DL. He's giving me a lot of good advice.

I've done some mock interviews with OO and given them SOP violations and they were cool with that. If you've ever made a mistake on a rule as a student.

Like forgetting the tin (not doing preflight checklist in its entirety) and not knowing that I couldn't fly IFR on solo even if I was current and it wasn't against FARs. I think it's just a how did you learn from it...kinda like checkride failures?

You don't want to cross the line of downright stupid, dangerous, or deliberately against the FARs but it's great to have a story that captures the interviewers attention and that you can say you learned from and applied to the rest of your flying career to this point.

Exactly. Tomorrow's the big day. We'll see how it goes.

Good luck!! I am finishing up my app today, with any luck (my hours are all that's left to enter...but I realize this could be a very hair-pulling section!). Let us know how it goes!

CJO! CTP April 25th. Class date May 9th. They said If I get my hours in early I can start early assuming there's a spot available. Excited for the next steps! I'm still at 1350 and 15 multi so I'm going to finish the rest of my hours as quickly as I can

Congrats!

How does the ATP CTP work?

Oops- congrats btw!!
They send me to Dallas for a week. Do some ground and sim training. Could be in a Gulfstream, could be in a Boeing. I still have to do the written test prep so I'll probably be getting Shepard Air. The CTP doesn't prep you for the written.
