Island Air Mins?

This is second hand info from a CFI friend of mine (disclaimer here), but published is 500TT 150ME 50 Instrument but normally three times that to be competitive. They are supposed to get some new Dash 8-300's this year so they may be hiring (reserve pool).

Are you asking about the Island AIr in Hawaii?? Their mins are 800tt and 200me. I've never heard of the 500/150/50 mins. There are all kinds of rumors about WP, but I am pretty sure they aren't getting anymore planes.

There was a round of interviews in mid-november of 04, I dont know if they are still interviewing. Good luck.

Sorry to bring this back from the past... but I was wondering if anybody has any updated info on Island Air? Are they still interviewing? I sent my stuff in a month ago and got a nice email response telling me to reapply when I meet their mins. Just checked their website and didn't see anything about FO's but I can't remember if anything about FO's was on their website a month ago (I know they were hiring into a pool).

They are very strict about the 800/200 deal from what I hear from my friends that work there. Hiring is into a pool, class dates can take anywhere from a month to a year from being in the pool. Pay is pathetic for the Hawaii cost of living, and training washes quite a few people out.

Unless you have a real need to be in Hawaii, take a mainland job.
