Is the Comm Multi and a Pulse Really Going on?

Is regular Joe really getting hired with a Comm Multi and a pulse? I find it really hard to believe. The reason is I can't see insurance companies allowing this.

All I keep hearing is how bad the regionals need pilots but how are they going to fill all those positions.

a Comm Multi, a pulse, and about 49.99 Multi time will get you hired at a certain regional.

Others, such as American Eagle, still have a demanding interview process.

No matter how low the mins go, FOs still always have adult supervision in the cockpit.

Who's hiring at Com/Inst + 50 hrs ME?

adult supervision? meaning the CA whose maybe a year or so ahead...ahhh yea, that's "adult" supervision alright... haha ;)

Something to be said for going through the CFI route then... It may help you down the road when you get into the left seat of a 121 operation.

I would hate to experience my first few hours of Dual Given in a airliner... Yikes!

PCL has recently once or twice. But I believe that is through an aviation program + crj transition.....

Mesa is hiring guys with wet comm tickets into their Air Midwest operation flying B1900s.

An ad went up a few weeks ago on my school's website...no joke

Not rumors, it is true. One Chief pilot told a group of potential F. O's do not pay attention to the posted mins on the web site. The regionals are hiring that low.

Mesa, Trans States and Pinnacle are all hiring sub 300 hour folks.

I bet Big Sky was going pretty low to get a bunch of guys for their new BOS operation. I know someone that was hired as a street CA, that was a FO on the 1900 for CommutAir.

confirmed

PCL hired a fresh UND grad at 230TT just a month or so ago.

true story.
This has probably been covered before, but out of curiosity - does it really take four years to get 230-ish hours at places like UND?

na, 4 yrs to get a degree, you just stagger your training around your schooling. So it goes at a much slower pace than part 61. There is a semester long ground school for every license or rating! If I could do it all over again i would do all my training part 61. I got my multi in 4days at ATP. At my Part 141 University Multi-ground is a whole semester! It just doesn't make too much sense to go through that for a Professional Pilot degree.

Other than Pinnacle, who has stooped to a new low, I don't see anyone claiming they were hired at 250 or 190 at any of these other airlines.

For shts and giggles I submitted an Airline Apps to Mesa and got a "Sorry you do not meet our requirements, please try again soon" That is with 300TT/200ME, and certainly not ready for an airliner.

If you look at Aviation Interviews, there aren't any rediculously low time guys that post interview experiences. Maybe they're hiding though...

Yes. But you get a shiny aviation degree with it!

Which is why I am bolting after this semester. I can get more experience elsewhere and I plan on getting a finance degree.

Once the mins reach the bottom of the barrel at 250TT, a pulse and an hour of back seat time in a multi will the airlines start increasing pay?:(

Had a guy on my JS a few weeks ago that just finished training here. He went to St Cloud University and had right at 300TT. The only reason he even got his CFI ratings was b/c the degree required it.

I have a feeling my CFI ratings are gonna come in handy when I upgrade. Can I log it TPIC AND dual given?
