Is my girlfriend really interested in aviation or not?

. I am 26 so it wasn't so very long ago that I was in my teens, fresh out of high school. I remember how frustrating it was when everyone wrote off my feelings and problems to my age. !

Don't worry, I write off what your threads say daily.....

j/k :D

Yeah we interrupted them once. We were staying with them for a few days. Wife and I went out, came home and the deadbolt was locked. It's hardly ever locked. We rang the doorbell and both parents answered all red and sweaty after a few minutes. Dad in law proceeded to talk and act all nervous just like a 12 year old boy when his parents come home early.

It was kind of funny. I tried to tell my wife we should leave for a bit but she thought that would be more awkward

Old people sex.......

Ewwwwwwww.

:p

MORE POWER TO THEM!!!!! :rawk:

Ok. I'm willing to bet two things now:

#1 - I'll be nominated for Ian J Debbie Downer for this thread

#2 - you're ONLY 18, son! You're most DEFINITELY not in "love". You may think you are, but I'll bet a case of beer that you won't marry her, you won't date her through college, etc. Who cares what she thinks about flying - if that's not compatible with you, drop it like it's hot.

Carry on.

+1:beer:

You've got a girl interested in you and youre worried about whether she likes flying or not!?
Good grief!
With a basic understanding of anatomy you should be interested in a whole lot more than flying.
As much as I love my job and the joys of flying I have to draw boundaries. If my life was nothing more than flying I'd stick my head in the oven. Besides you should be more interested in what she likes then the other way around. Believe me-it will be a lot more fun that way.

sounds great, but never give up flyin' for a woman:beer:

happy new year!!

Are you serious?

Ian and I were just talking about how people of older ages like to think they have some secret about "love."

A five year old loves like a five year old.
A fifteen year old loves with all the love a fifteen year old has.

Etc.

You can certainly be in love at 18.

Cripes.

I don't know that this is worthy of a Debbie Downer award. But it should earn a "WTF?" award.

I have no secret about love. It sucks. No pay off. I'm trying to perfect my ability to be an emotionless robot.

But, hey, I am willing to look past your above comments and humbly accept the nomination for both Debbie Downer and WTF? Awards, if and only if you accept the nomination for the "Where the heck have you been?" award.:D

But what about the hugs and the kisses and the friendship and the sex and someone to do things with on weekends?

In the lav. :)

What about the games that are played to even get to that point? What about all the people only interested in leeching someone for free food and drinks? What about asking someone to choose between family and friends vs one individual? Cheating? Nagging? Involving someone in prior relationship problems?

My most successful relationship to date was with a woman 5 years older than me who concurred we weren't going to label it anything more than steady dating. That way, when we parted ways, there wasn't anything earthcrushing put on any one person.

Well, why are you picking the women who do that? Have you looked at what attracts you to people?

Sounds nice! However, I don't think it's a label that hurts when people part ways. What tends to hurt is not seeing someone you care about anymore.

Best thing to do is not care about anyone then. ;)

It works, Mike, it works. Don't give a crap. Makes relationships a lot easier when you just don't care. :D

At the risk of sounding like a little girl, I agree with all of the above. My girlfriend in high school and I were "in love" at 16, and nearly 11 years later, that same girl is my wife (who moved almost across the entire country to live in bum nowhere MS to be with me.....if that's not love, I don't know what is ;) ). I'd say the difference is the maturity of your relationship at that age, but I agree that you can certainly find your match even that early

Just because she isn't an aviation guru like yourself isn't a reason to not be with her. My soon to be wife (2 months from now), is far from being a nut about aviation, but she puts up with it, and does enjoy getting places 2x as fast. We take trips up north and around east coast; she'll sit in back and read a book while I enjoy myself up front.

So, in hind site, don't let her lack of aviation deter her from you.
