Is Mesa going away, or what?

I know all the trash talk about Mesa already, so if we could leave that out of this thread I would appreciate it. I am at a point where I can't afford to live in Las Vegas on $1300 a month anymore. I have a relatively stable job here seniority wise, but again, not making any money, no IFR, and no night flying. Would it be worth it to give Mesa a try?

I don't really care about staying in Vegas, I need somewhere cheaper anyways. I am a little hesitant to leave my seniority here and have Mesa fold a month from now. Anyways, any insight from current Mesa guys would be appreciated.

Washington or New York or Chicago isn't much cheaper really, and you won't be making that much more for a year.

They seem to be hanging on. . .we all do honestly.

Who can hang on the longest though. . .now that's the question.

You must be at Scenic? I'd wait it out until the airlines start hiring again in order to provide yourself with more options.

Don't leave me Jason!!!!

There must be some other poor slobs trying to live on Scenic wages...try and find some roommates.

Convince the powers that be that they need to do another class...and hire me into it.
Then I'd need a place closer to Six One Beaver.

We could play Xbox and drink Mountain Dew all day! haha

I agree. Being on the bottom of a seniority list right now is not the thing to do. Ride this out and keep flying. People applying for the regional jobs are furloughed regional pilots and furloughed major pilots. Trust me, you need 4,000 hours and a B757 type rating to be competitive now.

Also, Mesa could still lose the Delta flying. You know what would happen then..

When is the next court date?
As of now there is no scheduled date. As of now DL is wanting to re-depostition two of MAG's management, due to pertanant e-mails being erased(seems like a bad habbit) that Delta had requested prior to the injunction hearing. MAG has stopped cooperting as openly as it did before it won the injunction. Delta had requested e-mails that proved MAG knew months in advance that it's numbers weren't meeting the specified matrix required by their contract as well as requesting MAG back up it's statement that they would indeed go bankrupt if the contract was terminated and an injunction not granted; with various financial documents reguarding loans, aircraft utilization, liqidity and so forth. MAG's states the company they hired to reproduce all the documents required had printing issues that delayed the turnover of documents until after the injunction was granted.

Basically this is getting nasty and will be drawn out for a while.

FWIW....They apparently have close to $100 million in debt payments/notes due over the next 10 months or so. It is anyone's guess if they will survive. I wouldn't feel comfortable going there right now if I was counting on sticking around for awhile.

Sounds like a couple people still checking out porn on company e-mails.

Lord knows MAG has a bad habit of such activities.

Thanks for the replies guys. I wrote my first post in a fit of rage after getting yet another day of reserve. Too many FO's and an industry slow down has had me sitting on guarantee since last October. That and I've only logged about 270 hours this year. Both are sending me up the wall when you can barely survive on the pay. Looks like it is time for a second job of some sort. Thanks again for the replies.

No worries, I feel your pain though. After upgrading I have been commuting to reserve for nearly a year and have only broken guarantee a few times. So far, it hasn't been worth the loss of QOL. I was bidding super high back in DEN before the upgrade and had great trips and lots of time off. Oh well, win some lose some I guess.
