Introducing Myself

NEOHIO

Well-Known Member
Good morning everybody, just wanted to say hello and introduce myself.
I graduated UND in 2002, flight instructed there for a few years, then went to Atlantic Coast Airlines for an internship (We all know how that turned out). When they went under I wanted to try the corporate route, so I got a job in NE Ohio to start a flight department for a railroad construction company...started in a Bonanza, upgraded to a Baron, currently looking at a conquest. My wife runs a bed-and-breakfast on Lake Erie, we have a winery on site that I make the wine at... Glad to be here!

Welcome to JC!

:curious:
Any chance your railroad company paid for you to get multi-time in FL at the Aviator?

It's amazing how small the aviation community is!

As a matter of fact they did...when we upgraded to the Baron I had about 100 multi (Seminole time). I fly the executives of the company on a regular basis so we have huge insurance limits, so they wanted me to get more multi time. Fun time down in FL, I got to stay in a oceanfront condo that a local pilot's parents weren't using!

Hey,

We may be looking to sell our Conquest in the next month or two. Give me a PM if you'd like, even if you don't want ours I can answer any questions you have. Are you looking at a I or II?

Alex.

Welcome aboard.
So whens the wine tasting?:D

Wine tasting any time! The company I work for just finishing building the light rail system in Charlotte, have you gone for a ride on the train yet? We've been in and out of Charlotte a lot this past year, got to love Wilson Air Center!

Currently, we're looking at a II that is for sale in Ohio (trying to save on the taxes with an in- state purchase). That having been said, my mechanic wants us to find a I because he likes the P+W engines from the MX standpoint. Is your airplane listed on aso or controller yet? Are you upgrading?

Havent been on the light rail system yet.

When do you come into Wilson Air Center? I work there at night 2200-0600, but still, let me know when you're coming in.

We usually arrive early morning, but with the job wrapping up there probably won't be a "regular" time anymore. That having been said, is there a such thing as a "regular" time flying corporate? I'll let you know the next time we're coming down.

The II is a much better airplane, but has a huge AD due in Sept '08 that will cost $80,000 and take 3000 man hours to complete. So far only three companies can do the work, so the waiting list is huge. That is why we bought a I and it is also why there are so many 441s on the market right now. When we were looking three months ago there were only two IIs on the market. Ours is not officially for sale yet, but we will be upgrading to a Citation some time before summer.

Are your Initials L.B.?

I think you and I might have taken a nice cross-country flight from FPR-HZY-ABE-FPR......Hmmmm, ring any bells for you????

:D

Welcome!

Do you have a proprietary label for your wine? Is it sold commercially and/or outside of the Great Lakes region? Just curious.

Again, welcome!
