Interview Prep suggestions for regional airline.

Re: Interview Prep suggestions

You must be talking about AirInc (Kit Darby) - those are pretty high prices.

I probably am talking about AirInc, I've never really looked into, and I'm not planning on using them, but I was curious to know if anybody has, and if so... what they thought. When I get to the point of interviewing I'll probably just get a couple of my instructor friends to give me a 'mock' interview, and let them tell me what I need to work on.

Re: Interview Prep suggestions

I've seen a lot of Air Inc's materials, and it seems to focus on two markets: military aviators transitioning to civilian flying, and high time pilots going to the majors. As a CFI aspiring to the regionals, I didn't find a lot of it useful. Things like salary surveys, airline addresses and contracts are easily obtained on the internet anyway.

I'm using the following to prep for interviews:

ASA ATP Oral Exam Guide
Checklist for Success (Cage Consulting)
Airline Pilot Technical Interviews (Cage Consulting)
Everything Explained for the Professional Pilot
Interview gouge from the internet

Re: Interview Prep suggestions for regional airlin

My opinoin is that they can be invaluable for those who can benefit from them. Some people are more inclined to being able to interview than others, just as electronics may be easier for some than others.

An example of someone who probably could have used a little guidance for interviewing was a fella who upon entering the interview pointed out the stained tie he wore which displayed the lunch he had (which didn't make it into his mouth.)

He proceeded to point out a number of his flaws through the interview.

While, in his perception, this may have been attempt at straightforwardness and honesty, he failed to remember that he is applying to become an ASSET to the company, not a liability.

On the flip side, after you go through 3 or 4 you know what to expect. If you still have trouble getting feedback on why the position was not offered, perhaps a interview service could be a new perspective on technique.
