international jumpseat

Its a sticky situation because they want you to list on that non rev number, but if you list and show up and they don't put you as OMC, you get charged. If you show up to the gate and haven't listed, you get the rolling eyes, the huff and puff, and I'm busy right now, go list and come back. So I'm gonna try to jump out there and back from the UK, I'll be going out of ORD to LHR. Theres 3 flights from there.

Also does anyone know if I can jumpseat on virgin atlantic? That ticket is costing me $240 roundtrip to DXB because of LHR departure tax!!!

LHR is the worst on taxes!!

First class ticket cost me $465 to JFK while from JFK to LHR the first class ticket was $267!!!!

I jumped United to Paris and back without too much trouble. Be especially early when you come back because they've never heard of SkyWest and it might take a little while. Technically, international jump protocol is to wear a suit, but I just wore standard jumpseat clothing. Ed is right, though, they may try to get you to pay taxes, so just prepare. And you can't sit up front. Gotta have space in the back somewhere (hopefully biz or first).

I've also jumped from ORD to CDG on United, and they treated me great. The flight attendants even offered me Business Class on the way over. I was trying to get to EWR on a pass, but the weather was poor and flights were delayed. Going to the gate, I explained I had planned on another flight, so I'm not listed, but any chance I would be able to jump on this one? They were very helpful. None of the usual, "go list and come back." Might be a good approach to take.

Good luck, and have fun!!
