That'll teach you, then. All I know is that yesterday after I filed Direct with remarks: "No RNAV SIDs or STARs," clearance delivery gave me the six (6) RNAV/GPS waypoints of an RNAV departure (yup, that took a few minutes to copy and enter) and assigned an initial of 3000. At take off, tower changed initial to 2000 and assigned a left turn to a heading away from the fixes previously assigned, and then handed me off to departure. Tracon immediately climbed me to final altitude and turned me direct my destination. I'm going with Tracon... 'cause apparently they are the only ones actually reading the filed plans.
I still remember SoCal Approach as Coast Approach.
ELP and ABQ Class C not served by a stand alone TRACON? Wondering because not on the list. Unless possibly they are Tower Approach control facilities and maybe those aren't included?
Uptown girls.Correct ABQ and ELP are combined Tower/Tracon facilities or what we call an up/down facility.
Uptown girls.
How about this. ORD is superior, you win.
Just ask John Carr (I'm sure you know the name. He's the one who put ORD's wants ahead of the Unions. The same Union that he vowed protect and to serve) during our ATC13 conversation where we made "the #'s but no one will ever be a 13 till ORD is", (where our own Union screwed their own Members out of $ because of ORD pride).
Typical ORD attitude.
F the Union members as long as ORD gets theirs. The only thing I gauage life on now is how much bigger my Middle East paycheck is and my quality of life is, now that the FAA, my Union "Brothers and Sister's" are in my rearview window after 30 years and the d'bag chest thumping crap is behind me, compared to being a dick "one trick pony". See if you can grab a job here, and we'll talk. It ain't easy....even being from the all mighty ORD.
NATCA is a joke and so are FAA controllers. NATCA, and ORD & ATL, are a YMCA without a pool. If you don't see it, your head is in the sand.....or somewhere else.
Brother and Sisters my ass
I didn't even know level 13 was something that was possible, just never thought about it. So why were you in natca for so many years if you call everything about it a joke?
The ATC-13 pay band was part of the original pay reclass ., there were several facilitys that were close exceeding ATC-12 traffic count and NATCA wanted it included so there would be no fight with the FFA if a facility traffic count exceeded the pay band and could be promoted to the new level.
