This is from one of my flight cards as I wrote it down from the ATIS one night when returning.....
"200 FEW, 600 OVC, visibility 4, winds 360/7, altimeter 1012.8, PAR approach in use, landing runways 32 and 33. Caution firefight in progress on south and east perimeter fences. Automatic weapons fire and light triple-A reported on 3 mile final by a C-7, multiple parachute flares on 1 mile final. Landing at own risk. Advise on initial contact you have Yankee."
Upon contact with the PAR controller, he told me that if I don't receive a transmission from him for more than 10 seconds, to execute published missed and contact tower, since it's likely that the mortars hit their mark.
