Interesting new airliner concept

Also, these are some wonderful bullet points:

  • Jet engines on wings more easily ingest birds, causing engines to fail. SE engines are mounted in the rear of the aircraft.
  • If only one wing engine fails, because they are far apart in relation to the centered tail rudder, the airliner is harder to control, which also makes training difficult and a crash much more likely. SE engines are in parallel, which also enables a final boost in efficiency possible.
Didn't know so many engines & wings fell off all the time!

Not to mention that the infrastructure at airports is such that this thing would never sell. You'd have to reconfigure jetbridges everywhere, and it would decrease the number of available gates. The amount of efficiency you have to gain to be able to lose gates... yeah. Someone's dream, but it'll never fly as an airliner.

Also, reduce fuel consumption by 70%??? I'd love to see how they think they can do that. This could easily end up with the problem all the early X planes had of never achieving their full goals due to the engine not being developed.

This 'corporation' is basically registered to someone's moms basement. File this with the circular runway thing.

LOL the ceo is this dude...

I mean.... it's better than that idea where the cabin detaches in an emergency and parachutes down...but just.
