so I'm doing my tailwheel endorsement, with the goal of maybe getting a banner/glider tow job in the near future. My plan was to get checked out in the flight school's citabria and then take it on some x-countries to build my taildragger time.

So I've got about 4-5 hours in the Citabria and my CFI goes "Too bad you can't get checked out in this thing." I ask him what he's talking about. "I didn't tell you? you have to have 100 hours taildragger before you can check it out."

Well at least I'm still getting the endorsement, but I'm gonna have to find a place with lower mins to build my tailwheel time at. Does anybody know of any Taildraggers to rent in SoCal?

Do you think it would be difficult to get someone else who is checked out to go flying with you? If I was, and you were paying, I would do it in a second! This way, you could still build your time and not have to be the PIC. Just log it all as sole manipulator.

BTW, you did log the training time as PIC right?
