insurable times for a B200GT?

I just don't quite understand how one can fly a metro or 99 single pilot but not a 200? Unless it is what is being carried, ie CEO's?
Everyone seems to be overlooking the biggest factor..... PRICE

A B200GT is going to be $3-4 Million. A Massively used Be99 with 14,000 hours on it is worth ~$500,000. And lets face it....freighters aren't carrying that much insurance coverage to start with(if any), and very little for the crew.

It cost more to insure a new car than an old one. The benefit to aircraft insurance is the policy holder can increase his "time requirements" to lower his rates. I once new a rental C182 that required 2500tt.

Funny to see how so many have been spoiled by the illusion of 300hr airline jobs. In the real world, 300 hrs won't get you a job washing an airplane. Private owners also want a better ride quality that most box haulers demand.

makes sense, but I do still have an interview :) the plane is only 2 yrs old, so we will see, I hope it goes well, have to admit, it is a little daunting going from 3800lbs to 12500 and turbine powered....

Turbine engines, IMO, are easier to manage and fly than pistons. You won't have any problems. Good luck!!!!!

Just.........wow.
...and that was in 1990.

He was a local business owner and a lot of the renters were students at the flight school. Needless to say, he didn't want students and CFIs tearing up his (nice) airplane. It was basically for businessmen to use on trips. I wish I could find a nice Bonanza/Baron like that now to rent.

Sorry it took me awhile to respond but yes I would love to fly for SKY. I live 5 mins down the road from them and passing that airport on the way to Cedar Point daily as a kid is one the main reason I learned to fly. I have no idea if what they require to work for them though. I know the owner and his two sons are the captains on the King Airs and I dont know if they even use a copilot. But they do flying to the islands as well though that I know they have at least two pilots on their staff to do that. From what I have been told all the pilots who fly for them are lifers there so who knows when the next spot will even open up.

thanks, this could be a dream job, it has potential to someday turn into the full time gig.

I have no idea what to expect for the interview, I was just told to be at their hanger and I didn't need to bring anything. The interview is just with the current pilot and no hr afaik. It will be interesting

They already think you may be qualified (hours, etc.) or they wouldn't be wasting their time by talking to you.

They're probably going to want to know that they can stand to be on the road with you for x days. That's the way most of my interviews have been. In fact, all but my Airnet interview was like that. Just a "talk to me/get to know me" interview. Maybe a technical question here or there. The only thing I remember about the Airnet interview wasn't like that was the sim and knowing how the gear was down and locked...other than that, it was also a "is this guy a male anatomy part or is he going to be okay?" type of thing. Luckily I was able to fool them.....

I highly doubt if you'll get any "if you could be a vegetable, which one would you be?" type questions, but I suppose it's possible.

Let us know how it goes! King Airs are fun!

My advice...Don't be cocky, but be confident. Yea, it's a turbine and you are feeling intimidated (remember, in the end it's just an airplane)...Don't present yourself as someone who always has to ask questions and be told what to do...Use what you already know, and show you are someone that takes initiative to get the job done...

Goodluck man! You're gonna love the King Air!

thanks for the advice, will post next week after the interview. i am excited, it is gonna be hard to sleep this weekend!

King Air is my dream airplane, always has been, and the 200GT is just WOW! especially single pilot

one more question. If I know what the full time guy wears t work everyday, do I dress similar or still wear a suit? He wears jeans a collared (polo or similar)

I think I still wear my suit and take the jacket off if need be?

wow, i missed all kinds of keys when posting from my phone this morning lol.

and i don't own a flight suit, so probably just show up in a normal black suit or is that overkill since the guy wears jeans and a collared shirt?

If it were me, I'd go shirt (long sleeve) and tie. No jacket.

That's just me, though.
