Instrument maneuvers diagram

Well, I should apologize. I guess I was a little testy last night. My girlfriend got in a car accident (she's ok), and I was feverishly posting on Jetcareers to keep myself from going down the street (it happened nearby) and strangling the dumb broad that was following her too closely.

Anyhow, I aplogize for my pity for your students remark. I'm sure you'll make a great instructor. Just remember what PhotoPilot hit on above, an instructor who insists on doing everything in only one certain manner is doing a disservice to his/her students. So if your students are ever getting overloaded with just controlling the aircraft while doing holds/approaches, etc., take a step back and try some of these silly patterns.

You CFIs out there. Remember the difference between technique and procedure.

They're not one and the same, as too many claim they are.

There are many good techniques to accomplish learning the same procedures.

EatSleepFly,

I accept your apology, no hard feelings. I also apologize for any harsh comments I may have posted, and am very sorry to hear about your girlfriend. I hope she will be okay. I understand there may be more than one good way to teach, and I will keep an open mind as I become an instructor.

Isn't Sierra PFT?

Ummm...well, yeah actually they do make us pay for our training. That'd be sweet if they let us train for free.
