I'm in the same shoes buddy, just do what you did in the training, try not to make some stupid mistakes like not identifying VORs and stuff and you'll be fine I guess. Mine is coming up too I know how you feel :banghead:

Question.

You passed the stage check but you still have to take a checkride?

141 stage checks = checkrides i thought.

Negatron. Actually depends on the syllabus. MIGHT have not have self-examining authority.

Take your time. You don't score any points for finishing the checkride in a hurry. Good luck and let us know how it goes! :)

Minor technicality but actually it doesn't depend on the syllabus so much. It is technically an authorization granted to the school from the FAA. It should be noted in the TCO and the Training Specifications (like op specs only for 141 schools...I think 142 may have 'em as well) and normally will be (the POI should be checking the TCO to make sure it's in there and then issuing a revision to the training specs once it's granted).

However, even if you do have examining authority, you may be required to send a student to an inspector/examiner (normally a FSDO guy and not DPE) for the final checkride or any stage check at any time.

That's random, I'm a 141 guy and have my inst. check ride tomorrow morning @ 6am AZ time.

Good luck bro, remember to tune and identify and give yourself a cushion with the MDA's. Hopefully we'll both come out tomorrown afternoon "in the clouds...."

I am aware of this :)

I didnt know if it had anything to do with the 141 deal. Because of the syllabus we were able to do in house examining. However if we have a pt 61 guy we need to send him to an FAA examiner.

I guess i just wanted to know if 141 meant in house examination authority as well. Live and learn I will.
