Instructing in different aircraft

Hey I just got my CFI. I started wondering what is required before teaching in other SEL aircraft that I haven't flown in. I know that the POH should be looked through and I should have some experience in that aircraft for safety considerations it couldn't be a high performance aircraft since I don't have that endorsement.

I've never flown a Piper Archer or Warrior but have flown a lot in the Piper Arrow and C172. Can I instruct in the Warrior or Archer right away or do I need to have logged a certain amount of hours. I tried looking for an answer in the FAR.

Thanks!

Legally you don't need a thing, except for ME and RW.

If at all possible, fly it enough that you actually feel like you can teach the student something useful.

A lot of time with schools trying to save money the most you are going to get is about a half hour in the airplane. Try to learn the POH pretty well because they all fly the same just have an understanding of the systems, emergency procedures and Vspeeds.

I started instructing out of a:

Archer/Warrior: w/ .5 in it
Arrow: w/ .5 in it
DA40: w/ .4 in it
M20J: w/ 0 in it

As long as the airplane is "similar" to one you've flown before I wouldn't worry. An Arrow is just a warrior with swinging gear, and the PA-28 is virtually the same as the C-172.

Now if they want you to teach in a Cirrius, I'd demand about 3-5 hours to learn the airplane.
