I instructed part-time my jr and sr years, I didn't get my Multi or MEI until sr year. It was a ton easier to get the multi once you have been instructing for awhile...which saves you money, also the school I instructed at gave discounts for multi rental for when I got my Multi, and MEI.

I live with my gf but trust me its not easy. It is the reason for many arguments. But in the end she understands for now at least. I just can't see myself leaving my job running the warehouse because frankly the money is good. If I wake up one day and dont feel like flying that day I can call off and not worry about how am I going to pay my bills? Its also nice because it gives me the ability to pick and choose what kind of flying I am doing because I dont rely on flying to pay any bills. In all seriousness the money I make flying goes back into flying, either flying our cherokee 140 on a trip or getting a new ratings. My new things is soaring
. Come next spring I will have my CFI-G and be instructing gliders and flying the tow plane. And chances are I will probably never make a career out of flying because right now it seems to make more sense to work a 9-5 job and fly on the side for fun while still making some money doing that as well. I can't finiaclly justify chasing a full time flying career at this point in my life.

When I started doing this kind of schedule last year (full time flying for work, and full time school) we made the decision not to get another car. That we we always see each other at least a couple of times per day as we swap rides, or give eachother rides in the morning. Makes waking up something to look forward to, and also gives us the quality time we need to keep from shanking someone.

Generally I've found that shanking someone is quality time in itself! Interesting idea about sharing the car..wouldn't have seen it from that perspective.
