Hello everyone! I was wondering if it was possible to instruct and do the utah state college online?

Thanks

I've talked to a few instructors who have done it and I hope to be doing it in Aug. Maybe greezergriff7 will wirte in. I believe he is doing the program right now.

I honestly can't believe you would be able to instruct for ATP at a location like JAX and complete a full load of online classes. Maybe if you can figure out a way to get more than 24 hours out of a day but doubtful.

I agree at a 90-day location it would be hard. That's why, if I'm offered a job, I was going to aim for a location that did not have the fast track program. I'm not far from my 2 year now, so I would probably take only 9 hours a semester and continue to build time.

I just completed my first semester at UVSC.. Think I now have around 40 hours now. All you need to do to receive credit for your ratings is take about 7 written tests. I completed all that while instructing at ATP and even took two additional electives worth 3 hours each. I had more than enough time. Let me know if you have any more questions

What location are you at, how many hours did you work (not just flight time), and how many hours of class were you taking? If you were taking a full 12 credit hour load of classes while instructing it would probably be helpful to these guys to know how your average day/week went.

If instruting and school don't work out, what could be another choice. Is it possible getting a degree while you work for a regional airline.

I instructed at the DFW location. The lengths of my days varried greatly, since I really had no set schedule. Each of my 7 written tests I did to recieve credit for my licenses took about 30 minutes each to complete. I was able to knock all that out in one weekend that I did not have any work to do. On top of that I took two additional elective classes..I probably spent a total of 10 hours working to complete both of those. Even when you sometimes work 15 hour days at ATP, I found that its very possible to dedicate a couple hours a week to working on my online classes..It's just a matter of actually wanting to do it. If you are a career pilot instructor and just have two students at a time (throw a 10 month in there it becomes really tough), it is possible to work 8-10 hour days, just 5 to 6 days a week. If you work 7 days a week then you can cut it down to about a 6-8 hour day. Hope this helps a little bit.
