I am in the middle of getting my cert for dispatching. I am going to AGS, it the closest one to my location.

I filled out an ap online with republik and the told me soon i get my cert they want to talk to me, they liked the idea that i already have 26 yeas experience in the military in aviation, 16 of those years as a dispatcher. They didn't discuss pay or anything with me.

Anyone know anything about Republik?

Re: Info on republik airlines

No idea, but you might find more info if you spell it as Republic.

Re: Info on republik airlines

Cover of Airliners magazine next month:

Republic Airlines: The biggest airline that you probably didn't know about!

Didn't know that!

Re: Info on republik airlines

If you can't even spell Republic correctly, I don't want your name on the bottom of my flight release. Sorry.

Re: Info on republik airlines

I am guessing the "k" was intentional as some sort of measure to be extra clever. Cut a man a break, he didn't know how to spell Chautauqua.

Re: Info on republik airlines

Jesh... gimme a break... i was in a hurry and miss spelled it. I was on about 36 hours no sleep.

Sorry for the remark.

What would you like to know? I'm not a dispatcher, so I can't really tell you a whole lot about that side of the company.

Good place to work overall.

I was wondering if Republic is a good airline to work for. I am talking with them about working as a dispatcher in Dayton, Ohio.

So, what will you do to a release when you're in a hurry, have 4 more to do, and haven't had much sleep?

;)

Are you now?

Are you making this up?

You've gotta be making this up.

Well, it's a decent place to work, however, Dispatch is at the corporate office in Indianapolis, IN, Not Dayton.

I simply asked a question, and I get accused of making things up? Maybe the fact that i served my country for 26 years appeals to people when they look at applications.

I talked with Republic and PSA but I gotta finish my training and get the FAA cert. This wont be hard or take long since I worked in flight operations for so long.

Mainly because you said that you talked to Republik (later corrected to Republic) about working as a dispatcher in Dayton . . . think about it.

It might . . . it might not.

Hehehe . . .

PSA is in Dayton
Republic is in Indianapolis

I have talked with both but I still have to get the FAA cert before being hired I was just wandering if any one happens to work for either of them or know anything about either.

I worked at Republic Airways Holdings, in Indianapolis, Indiana as a dispatcher. There is a lot of information on the WWW about the company, which has grown substantially in the last few years. PM me with specific questions you may have, and I will try to help out.

P.S., you're getting flak because you're disseminating inaccurate information that is basic-knowledge in nature. Operating the desk that way is a fast track to lose respect from pilots, co-workers, and everybody else. Don't mean to be preachy, just honestly trying to help you out. Good luck.

If you are talking about Republic Airways in Indianapolis, then I have a little info. They operate three airlines (Republic, Shuttle America, and Chautauqua). The starting pay as of early 2008 was $14.22/hour. They have six codeshare partners: Delta, American, United, USAirways, Frontier, and Continental. You will get flight benefits on most or all of these airlines depending on which of the three airlines owned by Republic you work for.
