Info on Pinnacle Direct Track, straight from the horse's mouth

Good response, you are absolutley correct...

It has been a little harder lately. I recieved a call from a friend of mine with a regional. He said if you want back in, I have a class date for you Sept 5th. To top it off, I recieved a call from the Assistant Cheif Pilot from Southwest. As luck would have it, we have a mutual friend. He told me that if I wanted a mentor through the regionals, to the 737 type, and on to Southwest (at least an interview), all I have to do is give him a call. Here I thought he was calling me for a mortgage loan. His name and number is taped to my wall in my office...

I may have to pick up the phone and call him....soon..

ILS

Now THAT is an opportunity - Godspeed Sir!

July stats:

15 interviewed.

3 failed written exam, so only 12 moved on.

Of the 12, 10 hired.

So those 10 were all given class dates of October 16th.

Now those 10 will start Phase III and pay the $22,500.

I wonder if anyone's told them their class date was cancelled? 9/11/06 is currently the last scheduled class for the year.....

Does anyone here work for TSA? airlinepilotcentral.com did mention the furloughs a couple of months ago, but no longer does...It now says TSA is hiring...

I was a Direct Track type, lured by the marketing/thought of a relatively quick journey to a seniority # and a jet.

I went through the evaluation and after decided it was not the thing for me. I realized that I had MUCH to learn (besides how to program an FMS and how to read checklists) before I felt that I could do the safe, responsible job expected of me by the lives in my hands. I couldn't honestly say before God that I was ready with a few hundred hours to fly IFR at 400Kts in
the soup, with all sorts of decision-making to be done that I haven't been exposed to...I'm now a CFI/MEI, and I've learned a bunch and realize that there's much more to be learned. My skills/knowledge will only increase now, and my confidence will be much higher in the end, along with my real world flight experience. I'm flying with people of all ages/backgrounds/experience levels, and there's no way this kind of flying won't drastically improve my skills...

My $.02 for what it's worth...

P.S. DE727, I'm thinking of starting a flight school where the CFI's have a unique opportunity to fly and gain experience like I'm getting now. All they have to do is pay the students $7,000 for the chance to build 40 hrs on a Private student, $5,000 for Instrument, etc...Will you be chief pilot/sales associate?
