Influencers are destroying aviation

Wut? He's still posting every week. With a large chunk of his posting being about how he's been wronged and plans to sue everyone accordingly.

There is nothin quiet about him.
Glad I’m not inside that circle…

….literally, in this case.

Have you ever done pipeline patrol? It's quite boring. Hours on end staring at the ground. I wouldn't recommend playing with your phone but I do understand why.

We've had an uptick in eff-ery with video/photographic evidence at my shop.

"Look at me, I'm flying, I'm handing… YEET"

People have flown airplanes for over a hundred years without the constant need for validation...

Except at parties: "Come on, someone ask me what I do!" only to realize that no one really cares. LOL

You countered your own point with the next sentence.

Social media is the next logical step and none of us should be surprised. I dont wear this huge watch for nothing.

Of course, that was my point.

Some people need 'live' validation now.

I've been in the industry long enough to get anxiety about when work comes up because here are my next few answers if someone is able to convince me to say the airline business:

1. Nah, I don't know that guy
2. I have no idea what that ticket should cost
3. Yes, no, nah, we really don't think Sully is a god.
4. Yeah, that really doesn't surprise me, but i really don't ride (airline). anyway.
5. No, civilian. Skyway. They're dead now. Region…errr… commuters back then.
6. Yes. At leas 24-ish hours, sometimes up to 72. Somedays, but often I just wander around aimlessly alone because I enjoy not talking work on a layover.

Old school aviator influencer. Carol Lombard. Who famously died in a TWA wreck.

This makes me glad our average pilot age is 49.8 (last I checked). I might have to hear a senior daddy grumble about *insert topic* every blue moon, but it beats having a camera in my face or being recorded every other leg.
So what you're saying is you love Gen X Captains?

I’ve had a couple “oops, that was dumb!” social media moments and at this point anything with a work airplane in it gets run through the “what would the boss think?” Filter like 4 times, by which point I usually decide it’s not worth it.
