Wingtip vortices are not a type of induced drag, they just contribute to it
Sorry, bad choice of words. I guess I should have asked, "are wingtip vortices are the only manifestation....I guess......of induced drag ?"
The other major category of drag that we look at is parasite drag. This is sometimes also refered to as form drag. Parasite drag is the result of viscous effects of the air. Basically that means it is the result of friction between the air and the aircraft
I thought form drag was a component of parasite drag, along with skin friction drag and interference drag....?
