You feel old? Yeah.....

:yeahthat: I was 26 at the time. :insane:

My 9/11 story is somewhere here already, search for every other 9/11 thread on every 9/11 anniversary if you wanna read it. I don't feel like writing it again.

condolences to those lost and affected.

its an equally huge loss, what we have allowed to happen to our country in the name of such acts.

but remember....in the name of those killed....in the very utmost of the American spirit...

They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.

This was written by Franklin, with quotation marks but almost certainly his original thought, sometime shortly before February 17, 1775 as part of his notes for a proposition at the Pennsylvania Assembly, as published in Memoirs of the life and writings of Benjamin Franklin (1818)

You know one of the things that sticks with me is that I got up that morning and went to check CNN.com as I did every morning. It wouldn't load. Neither would any of the other news websites. I didn't think anything of it and didn't hear about it until I was in my car listening to the radio.

Now anytime a news page doesn't open, I start to worry.

i remember i got up for class and clicked on my tv tuner card on my pc to watch the morning news in a window while i checked my email and assignments and such... needless to say, i didnt end up going to class.

Old!!!! I was teaching a Firearms Instructor Class at the Federal LE Academy in Artesia NM. Joined the Air Marshal program shortly after that.

This is one of the Days that remind me why I keep the signature below.

RIP Brothers & Sisters

Like many, I was no fan of most of GW's policies as president - but to give credit where it's due, he did a great job of restoring order and keeping people's spirits up in the days that followed. Much better than Congress' uncomfortable "sing-along". Couldn't have been an easy spot to be in.

Yup. I think he was the worst president in my lifetime and his administration is responsible for much of where we are today. But he dealt with 9/11 better than anyone could be expected to. He did a really good job up until Iraq...

and to decrease the chances of this becoming political (hah...like this is gonna stop it) I'll stop there.
