Baseops (flyingsquadron) has a built-in chat on the forum, but no one uses it. I think it'd be a great feature here at JC. May be worth exploring?

Do not know, but it crashes every 30 days

I don't think there's any record of it for the googlebots to snipe, so I can't imagine it'd require any type of moderation. It wouldn't be any different than the AIM chats we have, except everyone would know who people are!
