That'll teach me to miss the nomination meeting.

Anyway, it's EAA Chapter 1268 in Sonoma, CA. I'm trying to do some stuff to inject more life in to the club. We're not really an active building group, more social. We're starting to have a movie night each month. Last month was Thunderbirds (from the 40's), next Friday is Navy Born and February will be Tora Tora Tora! (by my request). Top Gun is still on hold.

I also found out we've had a beautiful website with zero content for the last 5 years. Showed the newsletter editor how to put them up as posts, and suddenly we're rolling. There's still some work to be done, but you can check it out at http://eaa1268.org/.

If you play Top Gun, you will be dead to me. For only have 13 aerial fight scenes displayed 40 times does not constitute "with assistance from the navy."

Otherwise, good work, carry on.

Sounds like you need to relax, go play some volleyball. With your shirt off.

I just became my chapters vice president. We are also faced with trying to recruit more members. Let me know what is working out for you.

Not sure how your chapter works, but the one my old man is part of, spends each meeting checking out a different member's hangar (at least those who have active projects). They review the progress of the build in question, and it sounds like it tends to foster a lot of good discussion and teamwork/networking. Last month they visited a gentleman's hangar who is building up a Vietnam era AH-1 Cobra out of a collection of 2-3 spares. Pretty cool stuff they normally get to see.

No, Top Gun is not seriously in consideration. I seem to have upset the hive mind.

There really isn't that much building going on at the airport. It's mostly a social club, and a very active Young Eagles chapter.

Congratulations.

Isn't Scheuville in your chapter? If they are I am surprised there is not more reported activity in your chapter. http://www.sonomavalleyairport.com/

I 2nd the thumbs down on Top gun.

Some people come over from there, but there's a bit of a local airport rivalry.

We're actually doing pretty well for the number of members, we just need more members with energy. There are young kids and retired pilots. I bet I'm the only person between 20 and 30 that comes to meetings.

Sound like my area's chapter (I wanna say 691...I'm too lazy to look it up). I've been to a few of their public events and they seem like a good bunch of people. As for age, I'm 22 and the majority of my aviation friends are 45 plus (except for my instrument instructor who's in his 30s).
