BINGO! that is where i am starting in 2 weeks.Ahhh. I was once excited for financial aid. But as each year passes, the looming prospect of paying it ALL back (and then some) makes me very uneasy. ~sigh~

Youre probably just working/looking at the wrong jobs in this city. Service industry jobs in this town can be very lucrative, i know from experience since I have been doing it while going to school and instructing for years. They arent the easiest jobs since they usually involve dealing with drunk people, but they pay much more than the averages that you have quoted in the past. A government website presenting figures that deal with a median income are usually not the best representation of the actual situation since they include most entry level fast food jobs, as well as tipped jobs in which most workers do not claim all they made in a particular shift since it is nearly impossible to track. Last year I made well over 30K working part time at one job, and about 11K at my flight instructing job. Summing everything up, yes it is possible, just requires a little more effort and some research.
yeah, where did you make 30K last year part time?Youre probably just working/looking at the wrong jobs in this city. that would require good service? You can easily do it as a bartender or by waiting tables, assuming Grand Forks residents actually tip (which is often not the case).

No I dont work at southgate, but I do deal blackjack, and you really dont have to dig to find a good job, just look. Its not as hard as our DJ is making it out to be.
Show us a job posting in Grand Forks with a livable wage that doesn't require a Bachelor's degree. Bartending doesn't count. I want actual guaranteed hourly/salary wage.
Something like Customer Service, Data Entry, etc... something an 18 year old can do. I wouldn't say Amazon because their job posting stated that they require a "Bachelor's degree" for $9 an hour. With the high cost of living in Grand Forks compared to the rest of the US, what a joke.

I think you should give communism a try, that seems to fit more into your requests.
