I'm not a pilot.

I feel out of place on this website, can I get a refund of my membership fee?

Nope, it was in the contract. It is $750 to get out of the website which goes down $19.50 every month. So you do the math. That's how Dish Network works and I've decided to play their dirty game. I can't wait to go back to AT&T. They're decent and besides they've got that hot chick in their commercials. Here at Jetcareers we treat you like crap and we don't even have any cute girls to sell our product. Not my fault you fell for it. No refunds. You pay to leave.

Past few years, the hours after the event have had plenty of that. :)

Same here. I slept until 3 or 4 to day and 1 or 2 or normal now that I am not working. It's summer break, but my school is online and I always schedule my class as late as possible. Sometimes I am waking up 30 minutes before class and having class in my pajamas. Take a Ativan and you can be out for quite a few hours, knocked out. I find that if I need to get to bed and get up without any problem it is better to drink a bottle of red wine that night with a late dinner and go to bed. I don't really get much of a hangover. I know the doctors say take some pill, not alcohol, but really I'm not sure I completely agree. Of course I do not think the purpose of Ativan is to sleep. I take mine for acute seizures mostly. My neurologist said they are not very good for sleep disorders I remember now. For anxiety and to treat acute seizures among a few other things. I will be up pretty early if I drink heavy though. By 10 at the latest, sometimes even dawn.

So when I first came here years ago...well circa 2006 or 2007, I was planning on making flying a career. But since my health has grounded me I'm not even a private pilot. I still have an interest in aviation obviously so is this a thing for only aviation professionals or can anyone interested in aviation attend? And perhaps that's not really a good question because in America I can do what I want. But would I have fun or would it be worth it for me to attend or would I feel out of place?

You will have a great time, it will seem strange at first, but, once people get comfortable, you will meet some great people.....

It's a lot of fun and I know that sounds "self promotional" but it is.

I'm watching the registrations zoom by and I'm really excited about seeing everyone. AND the fact that I can actually sit back and enjoy the event, rather than driving around Las Vegas hitting Costco and Party City to smuggle it into a hotel room.

Tell you what, @wainscottbl, if you come and you truly feel out of place, I'll refund your registration fee.
Are the "cops" going to be a bunch of female strippers this year?

I'd be up for arranging that but if it's anything like the last time we talked a good game about getting strippers, well, everyone would say it's a great idea until you asked them for the $20 it would cost to get one over.

I've spent enough money on strippers to put a dozen of them through med school. But I've always found the private show for a group of guys to be a bit....odd. It's the same as watching porn as a group. This isn't a group activity! A bunch of dudes sitting around a circle with boners just ain't right. :)

Speak for yourself Todd, speak for yourself!

Is there a way I can block this thread from my account? Wouldn't want my wife, who believes this to be a very important career building trip, to stumble upon this conversation...:aghast:

Well I will not be there this year like I said. Too much going on. Not everyone is an airline pilot making 250k a year you know. ;) I seriously think people still believe that. But no, maybe next year. You rich ex-fighter pilots enjoy yourselves.

Yeah, most airline pilots aren't making 250k/ yr either. Hell, more than half probably aren't cracking 100k. ;)
