I'm In....Who Else

Maybe. I really do not have the money and will not be in that position until September or October. But I may talk to my parents about it. I've been pretty cooped up due to epilepsy (can't drive so can't really get out) and so they know I've gotten a bit depressed. The biggest cost is the hotel and I've already got to go to Chicago for some scans soon. My travel costs may be reimbursed by a charity fund for epilepsy but it's still the fact that I will already be going to Chicago for a couple days, which will have it's costs not covered by the charity--food mostly and perhaps some recreation. I'm going to see what I can do with my parents. It helps that my sister lives out that way so that part of the reason can be to see her. So we'll see. Try to see in the next month of so depending on how things go with the Chicago thing I guess.

But I am almost certainly going next year. I'll be in a much better situation then. I used to be a member here with a different username so I know about NetworkJC, though never went, but it really looks fun, great and very affordable for what you are getting. It is a very, very inexpensive vacation. I think pretty much anyone can afford it, especially if they get the earlybird deals.

Assuming I can get the time off I will be there. I just applied for a new job and would start training Aug 13. So there is still a chance I will make it.

We'll see this year. My juniority makes it tough. Haven't moved up a single number in base since last year's NJC. :p

Road trip! I actually think that if I were to swing by where you live, it wouldn't be too far out of the way. I'm sure there's some way for me to catch the 15 from your place.

I'm in for that if I end up going. I'm actually about 35-40 minutes from the 15. Not too bad.

Well <blank> a duck..... Checking fares yesterday before leaving work...MSP-LAS $206 on Southern Innanashunal. Had to run and catch the bus. Checking fares this a.m. the same flight has gone up $100 bones.....@#$% Damn early bird got the worm.....Fares still are pretty good, but a $100 is a lot of CRAPS or blackjack....

$400 from GRR. Put on hold, paid yesterday. Same fare yesterday $584.

You are going right?

The magic 8-ball says it is highly likely....Can't make Tuesday but looking at Wed/Thurs night. Can't do another 6 hours of flight and 4 hours in Vegas. Last year was 3 hours flight to LAS, shower, NJC, back ti airport for red-eye back to Minny via Chicago and right from the airport to my playoff game at 9am...It was a little rough and I may have been sweating out some gin while coaching the game... :-O

There are other airlines non-stop MSP-LAS.

;-)......

Yes I am aware.....

Sprirt -> I have friends that work there and I know your DH works there. Not interested in paying $35 each way for a carry-on bag. Thanks but no thanks. They have a demographic and it isnt me. Besides their schedule is far from desirable for me. Could take Sun Country but they are one, maybe two flights a day max, again, not convenient. Based on number of flights, time of day, and cost, Southern Innanashunal is far the best option.

Even I don't need a big carryon bag for two days! :) I'd rather spend the money at the destination, but that's why there are alternatives!
