Pssh... there was totally another 5-6 inches of runway it could have used.... that's like 15 cm in Aussie metric.
 
it kinda makes you wonder what else the tower says when their mike isnt keyed. I'm sure they've had some laughs at my expence before.
 
That sort of takeoff from what I understand is more to so with procedural differences between soviet SOP s and western ones. I believe we are more accustomed to seeing and experience your typical western takeoff procedure which involves a climb out at V2+10kts to 1000-1500feet (noise abatement manouver). Soviet procedures usually call for an immediate acceleration to climb speed the moment the a/c is airborne resulting in a shallower takeoff.
