IFR Radio Communication

liveatc.net i believe it is. great place to listen in and hear how everyone communicates. there is also some cd's on sporty's for IFR communication.
 
No, no, no. Y'all have it all wrong. You say "say again, you were blocked" when you don't hear the controller or don't comprehend what they're saying. That way, some phantom pilot that DIDN'T block anything is the one that looks like an ass.

To which, the controller replies, "Say again, I was on a land line." :)
 
We do a lot of training flights at my aerodrome, and I find the biggest things are: knowing what to read back and what is not required, and pilots not fully understanding the clearances and instructions being issued and subsequently doing the wrong thing.

My only advice would be, if unsure, ask! I would rather reiterate the instruction than resolve a conflict that shouldnt have existed in the first place!
