If you are not on a referral list, what were your geo prefs?

Re: If you are not on a referral list, what were your geo pr

Miss ATC and I have the same geo pref. but she has a well qualified score.

Re: If you are not on a referral list, what were your geo pr

I said that I would take either en route or terminal on PUBNAT1. I did the same for this PUBNAT2. Hopefully, it works out!

That's really bizarre then. I can only speculate that maybe there's something on your application that they didn't like?

I sure hope not. I have roughly 24 months of full time experience and 4 years of college... I don't have any background in flying, but isnt that the case for most OTS'ers?!?!

Re: If you are not on a referral list, what were your geo pr

Same preferences here, but with a 100 on the AT SAT...

According to a unnamed person in the FAA that I know, you will get a shot with a score over 90, but it might take some time since the Southeast is a highly desired area of the country.

I thought the people who evaluate your application don't know what the actual score is, only if its Qualified or Well-Qualified.....

Disclaimer: this is what I've heard on this forum. Please take with a grain of salt.

It has since been revealed (in a thread I can't remember right now) that they have two sheets: a wq sheet and a q. sheet. Each sheet's list is in fact organized in descending order by score. If you think about it, it makes sense. If no score was ever used, there would be no reason for assigning and reporting a numerical score. Also, it would be inherently disenfranchising, because an 85 could be taken over a 100, and a 71 over an 84. This way, the wq get preference, but even then it is in order of score.

Re: If you are not on a referral list, what were your geo pr

Yes if someone that had a 70.0 score on their test gets picked before me I will go into shock.

Re: If you are not on a referral list, what were your geo pr

On the flip side,

I got a 93.3 on my AT-SAT, my PUBNAT1 preferences where CA and NY (Both), I got selected for Terminal in CA. My PUBNAT2 preferences where NY and NV, and I made the referral list, I doubt I will get a PEPC invite because I should be in OKC right around the time the PEPC's are.

:yup:

Re: If you are not on a referral list, what were your geo pr

I picked en-route only for TX and VA. I made the referral list... So I'm hoping they need me...my atsat was a 97.7. I thought about it, and there is no reason they would give you a score down to the tenth of a point if it didn't matter...i'm betting that they do put it in a list from 100 down by tenths of a point. That way just makes the most sense..

I have no idea if that's true, but it seems so logical put that way. Of course, this is the govt., so all logic might be out the window...

Re: If you are not on a referral list, what were your geo pr

I came across this while I was ASAP looking over a CTO announcement that I wrongly applied for...ok, I'll be honest, I wasn't paying attention and applied for the first one I saw. It pretty much gives the reasons why you might not be approved for the referral list:

There are specific eligibility requirements for each job which are detailed in the vacancy announcement. You should review the "Minimum Qualifications" and "Other Job Requirements" sections of the vacancy announcement to see if you meet the requirements necessary for consideration. Some common reasons why many applications are determined to be ineligible are listed below:

Citizenship - The FAA is currently accepting applications for U.S. citizens only.

Current or Former FAA Employee Restrictions - Some job vacancies are open to current or FAA employees only. Check the "Who May Apply" information listed at the top of the vacancy announcement.

Basic Qualifications / Grade Level Determination / KSAs - Check that you answered all of the questions in these sections under the "Applications" tab. If you did not answer all of the questions or if you did not meet the minimum requirements listed in the vacancy announcement, your application will not be eligible for consideration. Call the HR Specialist listed on the vacancy announcement for more information.
Signature Questions - Check that you have answered all of the questions in the Signature section. You must be willing to acknowledge an understanding of the requirements of working for a federal agency, as follows:
  1. You must be willing to acknowledge the importance of being truthful.
  2. You must attest that you understand the consequences of falsifying information on your application questionnaire.
  3. You must be willing to undergo background checks and previous employment checks.
  4. You must be willing to provide certification of the accuracy of all the information that you provided on the application questionnaire.

Re: If you are not on a referral list, what were your geo pr

Hi,
I took the AT-SAT last week and obtained a score of 95.8% [HIGHLY QUALIFIED]. I am planning on putting Seattle, Washington, San Fran, California and Atl, Georgia down as my preferences. From reading the previous post I believe I can probably count Georgia out, but what do you guys think my chances are for getting Seattle or California [San Fran]??? Also...do they let you choose the actual cities or do you simply pick the state and they send you to whatever city they want you to go to?

Also ..I am kind interested in the U.S. Territories [ Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Guam ...if you have any info on those then please share. ]

Congratulations on your 'well qualified' score. What are you looking to go into? Terminal, Enroute, or Both? If you are going terminal only, you have no chance at getting Atlanta especially if you are an OTS applicant.

You can specify 'counties' not specific 'cities' on your geographic preference e-mail. It will be sent to you later in the employment process. Remember, your preferences are just that...preferences...

I would not recommend GA then because you seriously have one place where you could go in ZTL as an OTS.
