If money were no object, which aviator watch would you wear?

Re: If money were no object, which aviator watch would you w

You know, if all the troublemakers I deal with would just listen to that bit of advice, my job would be MUCH EASIER!!!

So, you're the guy that keeps me from using my thumb drive at work, huh? Thanks a lot!!! :laff:

I'm afraid my story pre-dates thumb drive issues by about 10 years.

What a pain in the rectum that affair is, eh?

I'm sure MikeD would understand when I say, "cooperate and graduate" and "if you ain't cheatin', you ain't tryin'".

Timeless words of wisdom, my friend...

ha, I was looking at some of the Breitlings, and apparently they have the "Emergency" model that transmits on 121.5. Interesting concept.

one.. SARSAT was done away with... 121.5 is no longer monitered or is in the process of NOT being anymore.. so... so much for that option being cool on a watch... and secondly... Steve Fossett had this watch.. however.. it was on his dresser at home before his last flight.. good place for it... =(

121.5 is not going to be monitored as part of the new satellite program, but it will remain a valid emergency and search-and-rescue freq.

If money was no factor, I'd pull my pocket midget out so he could tell me the time when I needed to know.

I have this one but it doesn't work anymore...

If anyone wants some serious bling bling, I go to St Thomas all the time. You can get some major deals since you can talk them down about 50% of the MSRP. Send me some cash money and I'll bring you back whatever you want.

I got a Eco-Drive Citizen Skyhawk AT w/ titanium band for $325. The MRSP on the linked Citizen site is $850, but I've seen them in the stores for about $650. As far as I can tell, everything is authentic. I doubt you can fake a watch that can automagically sync itself to the WWVB clock.

current watch, don't really use it as aviation watch. just a nice watch.....

that is what i have and i would still wear it. it is light and a very good at keeping the time.

Re: If money were no object, which aviator watch would you w

I've been sporting this one since 2004. Bought it new for $4250, paid no tax. It retailed for $4950. It now sells for $5995.

I'd really love to have either of these two as my next one.

That is the one Rolex I always loved.

It's one of the few you can actually wear without being perceived as a total looser. Just simple. Anyhow, ran into a guy who sported a fake Rolex the other week. I asked him about how he liked his Submariner and he was proud like a dog telling me how expensive it was and what he had to do to "earn it".

I would get this watch...

the one on the right, with the rubber band

Re: If money were no object, which aviator watch would you w

Ah, the Ball Aviator GMT. Nice choice, black dial for me though. The Nighttrain would be my second choice for a Ball with all those tritium tubes.

My personal favorite:

Breitling Emergency
(they look awesome with the rubber strap as well)

Big fan of the Breitling, and hope I can maybe one day afford one! I've always been a sucker for watches. Never been into much "man jewelry", but have always loved a good (big) watch. I had a Seiko watch, which I loved, with the E6B which I never used, and I've misplaced it!!

Re: If money were no object, which aviator watch would you w

Even if money is no object I would stick pick a inexpensive something... Why waste money on a time piece that is no more reliable than a cheap one?

I like the black face too, but I love the tritium tubes... Too many watches just have little pinprick of luminosity that leave me reaching for a damn flashlight.
